Areas of Concern
Women and Poverty:
Women's poverty results in widespread violations of their human rights. When a woman faces lack of adequate housing, food, or health care, her human rights are violated. If she lives in an unsafe and unhealthy environment, she is not enjoying her fundamental human rights to a life of dignity. Moreover poverty can also be caused by violations of human rights, particularly women's human right to non-discrimination. When women are denied equal access to education, when they do not have the equal right to decide on the number and spacing of children, or when they have an unequal share of the responsibility for raising children, their ability to earn an income poverty is greatly compromised.
Women and Education:
The hegemonic masculine ideology made women suffer a lot as they were denied equal opportunities in different parts of the world. The rise of feminist ideas have, however, led to the tremendous improvement of women's condition in recent times. Access to education has been one of the most pressing demands of theses women's rights movements. Educated women can play a very important role in the development of their country. It not only helps in the development of half of the human resources, but in improving the quality of life at home and outside. Educated women not only tend to promote education of their girl children, but also can provide better guidance to all their children.

Violence against women includes physical, sexual, psychological and economic abuse, it cuts across boundaries of age, race, culture, wealth and geography. It takes place in the home, on the streets, in schools, the workplace, in farm fields, refugee camps, during conflicts and crises. Violence not only violates human rights, but also hampers productivity, reduces human capital and undermines economic growth.
Effects of Armed conflict on Women:
As we know women often experience armed conflict in diverse ways as victims, survivors, leaders and peacemakers. Violence against women in conflict zones is often an extension of the gender discrimination that already exists in peacetime. Women are systematically excluded from decision-making opportunities, they are often stereotyped as victims and their experiences and contributions are virtually ignored but women can also play a significant part in peacemaking if they are properly supported and genuinely included.
Economic Structures and Policies:
Reorganization of the economic and employment which has taken place in recent years has changed the status of women in society. At the same time economic reorganization involve changes in the gender composition of local employment. Women are playing an increasingly important role in the economy.

Political participation of Women
The concept of democracy will only assume its true and dynamic meaning when legislation and politics are determined by both men and women, equally considering the interests and abilities of both sectors of the population." However, the representation of women in democratic institutions still has not achieved parity in world politics. Equally worrisome is the continuing decline of participation by women in politics of many countries. In the era of globalization women's participation in politics is increasingly becoming an issue of interest. This is reflected in quotas and party wings systems for women. There is still much left to be done, but it is important not to ignore the accomplishments of the last few years.
